7 Main Roads in Chennai to be widened!

A private company has been entrusted with the task of conducting a survey for a project to widen 7 roads in Chennai including Kodambakkam High Road, Choolaimedu High Road, and Royappettah High Road.
Chennai Corporation had planned to widen 14 roads including Paper Mills Road, Chembium Red Hills Road, Kaliamman Koil Street, N S K Road, and Nelson Manickam Road.
In order to go to the next stage of acquisition of necessary land, a private agency has been entrusted with the task of taking the civil measurement survey and this activity has started.
During the Chennai Corporation meeting conducted in August, it was also decided to widen Choolaimedu High Road, Royappettah High Road, Dr, Natesan Road, R K Mutt Road, Velacherry Main Road (from Kannikapuram Swimming pool till Vijayanagaram Bus Stop), Purasawalkmam High Road, and Allikula Junction Road (behind Ripon Building).
Later, widening of Kodambakkam High Road (Dr, M G R Salai), Valluvar Kottam High Road, and Avvai Nagar Main Road was also added.
This proposal is likely to be presented and ratified during the Corporation meeting scheduled on 29th December.
