Christmas: Special prayers at midnight!

Christmas is one of the most popular festivals celebrated all over the world.
The Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in a grand manner.
The occasion is celebrated with offering assistance to the needy & poor, new cloths and presents to all near & dear.
The celebrations will start from tonight (24th December).
All churches will be decorated with special illuminations.
The scene of Jesus Christ’s birth in a cattle shed is created artificially and displayed.
Star-lights are decoratively hung in all places.
In Chennai city, all major Christian churches under CSI, ECI, and Pentecost have arranged for special celebrations.
Special prayers at Santhome Church will start by 11.00 PM. Similar arrangements have been made in all other churches in different areas in Chennai – Besant Nagar, Luz, Perambur, Egmore, Thiruvanmiyur, Purasawalkam, Adyar, Anna Nagar, Tambaram, Valasaravakkam, Vyasarpadi, Kodungaiyur, and Madhavaram.
After the special prayer, Christmas greetings are exchanged.
Security has been beefed up in the city for this occasion, especially in the church areas.
