Christmas expo at Poompuhar

Gift articles worth several thousand rupees are on display at the Christmas special exhibition organised by the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation at its Poompuhar showroom in the city.
The colourful Christmas crib set displaying the presence of people and animals at the birth of Jesus Christ at Bethleham is the cynosure of all eyes at the show.
‘Cross’ lamps, Mary lamps, candle stands, portraits and statues of Jesus Christ, star lights etc are the attraction of the show.
Apart from the above, panchaloha statues, brass lamps made at the corporation’s manufacturing centres, Thanjavur art plates, brass gift items fetched from Moradabad, wooden items of Saharanpur, handicrafts of Rajasthan, terracotta items made of red clay have also been displayed at the exhibition.
The show, which got underway on Thursday, will continue till January 1
