Metro Rail from Koyambedu to Alandur - Delay in Inauguration

There is a delay in the inauguration of Koyambedu to Alandur Metro Rail. Earlier, it was planned to inaugurate this metro rail service by New Year as a New Year gift to the people of Tamil Nadu. The announcement to this effect was made three months ago by the Railway department.
However, it is postponed indefinitely though Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has completed all necessary works and trial runs. There is no response from the Ministry of Railways to the CMRL’s request to indicate the date and time for inauguration. The reason is that they have not yet decided the needed factors for the inauguration.
