Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam inaugurates Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru on Dec 18

‘Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru’ - A mega music festival is going to be inaugurated by the former Indian President Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam on December 18th at the Kamarajar Memorial Hall, Chennai.
To celebrate the Margazhi Season, Lakshman Shruthi has been conducting ‘Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru’ a Carnatic Music festival for the past nine years. Various programs of Bharatha Natyam, Violin, Veena, Flute and other concerts are being held in this festival.
This year, the grand festival starts with Nadhaswaram Concert by Vidhwan Jaishankar at 3 pm on 18th December 2014. Then this will be followed by recitals on Pancharatna Keertanas by B.S.Narayanaswamy at 5pm. Around 6 pm Former President of India Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam starts the festival by lighting the inaugural lamp.
This ‘Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru’ will be conducted till 25th December 2015. This festival starts daily from 7 o’clock in the morning. More than 300 musicians and artists are going to participate and deliver nearly 52 concerts during this season.
