Chennai road will be made one-way for incoming vehicles on Karthigai Deepam festival

Karthigai Deepam festival falls on Friday. 8,000 police personnel will be deployed for security duty.
Eight temporary bus stands will be set up on the focal roads leading to the town. Buses cannot proceed beyond these bus stands on Friday. Likewise, 40 vehicle parking centres have been formed to stop private vehicles. Restrictions have been introduced for autorickshaws and only permitted local autorickshaws can ply on Friday. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed in the town from midnight on Wednesday.
Chennai road will be made one-way for incoming vehicles. Government buses bound for Chennai will have to take the Avalurpettai, Chetpet, Sothuppakkam, Kanchipuram direction. Chennai-bound private vehicles should take the Outer ring road- Polur-Arani-Arcot direction. Vehicles bound for Puducherry and Tindivanam should take the Villupuram direction. Government buses should take the Avalurpettai, Mel Malaiyanur, Valathi, Gingee direction.
