District Collectors for consultancy meet on completing Aadhar card implementation!

Mr. M R V Krishna Rao, Joint Director of the Census Department and official in charge of Aadhar card implementation, explained:
There are 6.74 Crores of individuals eligible to apply for Aadhar cards.
Out of this, info has been obtained from 5.01 Crores and registered for Aadhar Cards issue.
4.73 Crores individuals have already received Aadhar cards.
The balance cards are being distributed.
Camps are being organised for new applications, taking fresh photographs, send for any error-correction in the given information and also those who got their applications rejected earlier.
The central & state governments have jointly decided to open 470 permanent centres for Aadhar Cards registration. 440 centres are in operation. The balance 30 centres will be opened shortly.
16 district collectors are participating in a meeting to be conducted in Chennai regarding the various activities to be undertaken for completion of Aadhar card registration.
