Chennaites experience lovely climate

Over the last week, the temperature in Chennai was just five degrees lower, but the monkey caps, mufflers and sweaters were out in full force. Though there has been no trace of rain, the sun seems to have gone into hiding. This is perhaps one of the coldest weeks in Chennai this year.The highest temperature over the last week was on November 23, when the mercury touched 30.4°C. Since then, it has been dipping steadily . On Thursday , the maximum temperature dipped to 29.2°C.This Sunday , it plunged further to 26.2°C.
 
Similarly , the minimum temperature plummeted to 22.5°C.

The weatherman had predicted rain in northern parts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, on Saturday . However, no rain was recorded on Saturday . On Sunday , Nungambakkam received just 1.6mm of rainfall. “The system is still near south Tamil Nadu, adjoining Sri Lanka.Coastal areas will receive fairly widespread rain, and there may be isolated showers in one or two interior districts,“ said S R Ramanan, director of regional meteorological centre.
