Posted on: 28/Nov/2014 9:40:28 AM
The Regional Passport Office in Chennai will conduct `Passport mela with prior online appointment` exclusively for them on 29 November in order to mitigate the grievances regarding the difficulties experienced by senior citizens and students for submission of applications at Passport Seva Kendras.

PSKs at Saligramam, Tambaram and Aminjikarai will function on 29 November like any other normal working day and accept applications only from senior citizens, physically challenged and students for which they have to apply online and get appointment for 29 November.

The appointments will be released three days prior to the date of the mela. Other applicants are advised not to take appointment on that day, to allow only senior citizens and students to take part.

To participate in this passport mela, senior citizens above the age of 60 years and students have to log on to the official website `www.passportindia.gov.in`, register on-line, generate appointment. Applicants participating in the mela should bring the print-out of appointment slip to the PSKs along with the requisite documents in originals, plus one set of self attested photocopies. Only application under normal category will be accepted. Applications under `Tatkal` and `PCC` will not be accepted on this day. On-Hold and Refuse Tokens will not be entertained on that day.
