Metropolitan Transport Corporation driver’s flash protest

On Friday night after CMBT police picked up a driver and conductor for questioning following a sexual harassment complaint filed by a woman passenger, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation drivers struck work.
According to a bus driver, an unidentified person misbehaved with the woman passenger near Ega Theatre bus stop.
The woman, after reaching the CMBT, filed a complaint with the police, accusing the driver and the conductor of doing nothing to prevent the assault. The CMBT police personnel then picked up the duo for questioning, and according to the driver’s colleagues, were roughed up at the station. Furious, their colleagues struck work by parking buses in the middle of the road, bringing traffic to a complete halt.
