Multi-storeyed apartments for 733 families!

A multi-stroreyed apartment building is being planned to be handed over to the residents of 733 families residing in Murthyngar Street, Vyasarpadi.
More than 700 families have been residing in Murthyngar Street Vyasarpadi, over the last 60 years.
For the last so many years, it has been regular that rainwater has been getting into their houses putting them to severe hardship.
Hence, a decision has been taken to build a multi-storeyed apartment building for these residents.
The councillor for this ward 46 of Chennai Corporation, Mr. Saravanan, informed that the Slum Clearance Board officials had discussions with the residents.
Subsequently, the residents have agreed to vacate the area till to enable the construction of a multi-storeyed apartment building.
Each family is being given an amount of Rs. 8000/-. After vacating, they will be allowed to stay in Mullai Nagar, ready for occupation.
