Pervasive rains across Tamil Nadu

The existence of low pressure area over the Gulf of Mannar and adjacent south Tamil Nadu continued to bring in pervasive rains across the State.
Many parts of the State are likely to receive rain on Friday too. At the end of the 24-hour-period at 8-30 a.m. on Thursday, Rameswaram received 15 cm; Thiruthuraipoondi (Tiruvarur) – 14 cm, Cholavaram (Tiruvallur district) – 11 cm and Thucklay – 4 cm.
Educational institutions in Nagapattinam remained closed
