Posted on: 13/Nov/2014 2:52:32 PM
The northeast monsoon rain is on. Chennai city did not receive any shower for the past few days. However from last night, the city has been receiving heavy showers at all areas within the city and in other suburban places.

Heavy showers in Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur have hugely affected the daily routines of people in these places. There were heavy showers all through the night. This has left all city roads flooded, annoying two-wheelers and other commuters.

Following heavy pour down, all schools and colleges declared holiday in the three districts – Chennai, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur. More importantly, all semester examinations scheduled at Madras University for today got cancelled.

Speaking to the Vice Chancellor of Madras University Thandagan, he says all examinations that were scheduled for today at arts and science colleges got postponed. Details about postponed date will be announced soon, he added.

Exams organized by Anna University however continued to take place as per plans. There were no changes in engineering examinations though.
