Depression over central Bay of Bengal likely to intensify

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that a depression over central Bay of Bengal is likely to move nearly northwards initially and intensify further into a deep depression in the next 24 hours, causing rainfall at many places over Andaman during this period.
 
The depression over central and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal had moved northwards and lay centered at 0530 hours IST over central Bay of Bengal near latitude 13.80 N and longitude 87.50 E, about 610 km west-northwest of Port Blair, 630 km southeast of Vishakhapatnam and 730 km south-southeast of Paradip. It would move nearly northwards initially and intensify further into a deep depression during next 24 hrs.
 
Under the influence of the system, rainfall would occur at many places over Andaman during the next 24 hours, with isolatd heavy to very heavy falls.
 
Moderate rainfall would occur at many places over districts of north Andhra Pradesh and coastal Odisha on November 8 and 9.

As far as Chennai is concerned the sky condition would be partly cloudy. Light rain may occur in some areas today.
