Posted on: 05/Nov/2014 4:36:02 PM
Considering the total number of people who went on missing in the state in 2013 and this year, there is an increase in count by at least 1000 numbers this year. Over 2317 people comprising 439 children are still unknown. While about 8781 individuals went missing in the year 2012, the count was 9679 in 2013. Such an increase is count is found because all elopement cases were filed under ‘missing people’ category. There is no proper  explanation about the people who went missing. However, it is said the primitive reason is the lack of publicity about these missing individuals.

According to city police, the main reasons behind going missing are love affairs and quarrels among family members, and due to the people who leave their home uninformed, seeking job.

Police sources say, families of 28 people believe the missing person died in any road accident, while over 61 reported that the person got murdered and 27 claim them to have committed suicide. They also add that information about missing people are confined within the state level and the publicity is made through official and private sources of media.
