Soon travel to coastal cities in ship

Chennaites who head to their hometowns near coastal cities till Kannyakumari may soon have an alternative choice of transport very soon. Kamarajar port is all set tolaunch cruise service connecting Ennore with Kanyakumari.
Studies are on to analyze how far it is possible to bring forth a cruise connecting Ennore and tourist destinations like Mahabalipuram, Rameswaram, Puduchery, and Kanyakumari, said M.A. Bhaskarachar, the Chairman and Managing Director of Kamarajar Port during the two day conference organized by Confederation of Indian Ministry (CII), Southern Region, in association National Maritime Foundation on Thursday.
The state government and Puduchery government are into discussions for now, and the plan is currently in its initial stage. He also added that they are looking for the right place to dock the cruise ship during travel. The state government is very much interested in executing the plan. As of now, the facilities present in shore side are being identified.
They now have plans to stop the cruise at Puduchery and Mahabalipuram. Further plans to extend the service up to Kanyakumari will soon be discussed.
