Multi-level parking and commercial complex in Nungambakkam

Chennai Corporation has proposed to set up a multi-level parking and commercial complex in Nungambakkam.The corporation`s compactor parking shed opposite Sangeetha Hotel on Nungambakkam High Road is proposed to be used for the facility that will also accommodate an Amma theatre, retail outlets, offices and eateries.
The corporation is also identifying unused properties “to convert them into shopping complexes with Amma theatres and multilevel parking slots“.
The corporation had planned multi-level parking facilities at Wallace Garden Road in Nungambakkam, Panagal Park and Flower Bazaar. While work on the Rs 30-crore parking facility at Wallace Garden in Nungambakkam was started by a consortium formed by the Marg Group and Apollo Hospitals and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, the other two are yet to take off.
Four-wheelers will be charged Rs 20 for the first hour and Rs 10 for every additional hour and two-wheelers Rs 5 per hour. Monthly tickets will cost Rs 1,500 for cars and Rs 500 for motorbikes.
