Chennai city is finding more number of Madras Eye cases in the recent days. The infection is fast spreading, say doctors. At least 10 to 15 patients come with Madras Eye for treatment.
Madras Eye is not just an infection in summer but winter too. The reason behind the wide spread of the infection is cited to be the very hot weather and humidity in air, the doctors point.
Symptoms of Madras Eye:
· Redness in eye
· Continuous flow of tears
· Irritation in eyes
· Difficulty in opening eyes while waking up
· Eyes will looked jelled with each other
Above are some of the most common symptoms are Madras Eye.
Speaking to doctors in the city, they say the infection is spreading in the city rapidly. Bed, pillow or towel used by infected individuals should not be used by others. It is important to look into hygiene and cleanliness of hands. The infection will prevail at least for 10 days. The infection affects people irrespective of their age. It is recommended to visit an ophthalmologist nearby instead of taking self-medication.
