Reservation booking for Deepavali special trains gets over within minutes!

The reservation for all special trains for the festival of Deepavali got completed within 20 minutes after the opening!
Additional charges were collected for the bookings done through the Internet.
Southern Railway had arranged Premium 12 super-fast express trains and premium trains for the special occasion of Deepavali festival.
Reservations for the special Nellai express arriving at Chennai on 21st October, special Express arriving at Egmore from Nagercoil on 20th October, the special express train leaving Egmore for Nagercoil on 24th October, the special express train leaving Egmore for Nellai on 27th October, the special express train arriving at Kovai Central on 21st October, the special premium trains for Central to Kovai & Egmore to Nellai started yesterday.
Lots of people waited in the queue in all the major stations from early morning. The bookings started at 8.00 AM and got full within 20 minutes.
Additional charges on internet bookings
The duration for reservation for the premium trains is maximum 15 days. Booking for these premium trains can be done only through internet. Booking cannot be done on the station booking counters. No waiting lists are allowed for these trains. No refund will be given for cancellation of tickets. There will be no unreserved coaches for these trains.
However, lots of people had gathered at the railway stations for booking these premium trains. When it was announced that reservation can be done at the station only for super-fast trains, they were disappointed and had to rush to the internet centres.
Additional charges were collected for bookings done on the internet. Each ticket cost additional Rs. 80/- to Rs. 160/- causing severe hardship to the people.
