Stiff Competition in Tamil Nadu for installation of Solar Power Plants!!

There has been a severe competition to install solar power stations in Tamil Nadu.
Within a period of 1 week, several applications have been received to start 1000 MW solar power stations.
In the prevailing situation, it is expected that applications would be received for establishing 3000 MW solar power stations. It is gathered that Tamil Nadu State government is set to approve it.
All thermal Power stations, nuclear power stations and the new power stations in Tamil Nadu are expected to generate 2430 MW of power by the end of this year.
Hence, it can be assumed that there would be no power shortage from January, 2015. Additional power generation expected from unconventional energy sources such as wind power & solar power will make for surplus power position in Tamil Nadu.
