Chief Minister Jayalalithaa hands out awards to artisans

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa presented `Kaivinai Pokkisham` awards and Poompuhar state handicraft awards to artisans who excelled in their professions. Ten artisans who excel in various handicrafts are selected for awards every year since 2002, an official release said. The award comprises a cash component of Rs 50,000, four-gram gold coin, a citation and a certificate.
