10 Districts exposed to the scorching sun

With the rapidly increasing heat intensity during this summer, it has become unbearably scorching and hot in 10 districts in Tamil Nadu. Especially, the public lifestyle during the noon sessions has been greatly disturbed.

It has been a really scorching summer throughout the country! As such, the intensity of heat has reached an unbearably high level in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. At least in the coastal districts where sea-breeze sets in from the afternoon, the heat intensity get somewhat abated during the evenings and nights.

In this situation, especially over the last 2 days, including the coastal districts and all other districts, the impact of heat has increased. Even in the coastal districts including Chennai, and other districts as well, the heat intensity is rather high! As for yesterday’s temperature records, the temperature had shot up by 3 Degrees Celsius in 10 districts.

A very dry climate prevailed in Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Trichy, Karur, Dindigul, and Madurai districts.

A maximum temperature of 40 Degrees Celsius was recorded at Salem. It was 39 Degrees Celsius at Tiruthani, Madurai, and Coimbatore. Chennai Nungambakkam recorded 35 Degrees Celsius n Chennai Airport, 36 Degrees Celsius.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has estimated that the dry climate will persist for the next 3 days throughout the state and also there are prospects of rain in a few places due to the phenomenon of thermal convection.
