As the low-pressure formation developed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified, it is warned that the sea will be turbulent until tomorrow (21st September).
The director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, S. Balachandran has come out with a report on this development:
The low-pressure formation which developed over the central-east part of the Bay of Bengal has intensified and is developing into a deep depression zone. Because of this, the ocean waves will tend to be turbulent. Strong ocean winds up to a speed of 75 kmph will blow. So, the fishermen are strictly warned not to venture into the sea – the fishermen in the South Bay of Bengal until the end of today (Thursday, 20th September) and fishermen in the coastal areas of Andhra and Odisha until tomorrow (21st September).
Due to this depression zone, there are prospects of light rain in the northern coastal areas of Tamil Nadu.
Chennai will remain cloudy. There are prospects of intermittent rain in a few places.
