Special holiday today (12th Jan) for the companies in 3 districts in TN

A fairly large number of people from the other states in the country are employed in the 3 districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur in Tamil Nadu state. On this festive occasion of Pongal holiday, they would have planned a travel to their native places, reach there in the right time and have a safe and comfortable journey either way and celebrate the occasion in the heartiest way.
In order to facilitate this for their employees, several companies in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur have declared today (Friday, 12th January) as a holiday as per the order issued by the Tamil Nadu State government.
All the schools and colleges in these 3 districts are also given a holiday today (12th January).
