Mercedes Benz launches new long wheel base E class car in India

In the Daimler world, Mercedes Benz launched long wheel base E class. The car is notably the first of its kind made in India model.
 
In terms of volume, Mercedes Benz stands atop as the largest luxury carmaker in the country. the E class, new stretched sedan car is sold at Rs 56.15 lakh and Rs 69.47 lakh in ex-showroom Mumbai. Mercedes Chakan factory located in the outskirts of Pune is where the E class car gets assembled. This makes it the right hand drive manufacturing base for the car type.
 
About 34,000 units of the total 1 lakh vehicles sold by Mercedes Benz in India are E class sedans. Nearly 80 percent of these 34,000 use Chauffeur.
 
The new E class, in the 10th Generation, has extended wheel base. About 50 percent additional space is present at the back and seats can be reclined up to 37 degree. Compared to its predecessor, the new E class is 188 mm extra in length, thus making it lengthier than 5 meters.
 
The MD of Mercedes Benz India, Roland Folger said nearly three-fourth of E class buyers use chauffeured. Hence, introducing long wheelbase in E-class in India is a natural decision.
