Food and music carnival at the Vadapalani Metro Station

In order to attract the people, Chennai Metro Rail Limited will be conducting a food and music carnival on 21st and 22nd at Vadapalani Metro Rail Station.
Metro Rail is being operated in Chennai from Chennai Airport to Koyambedu, St Thomas Mount to Koyambedu and Alandur to Koyambedu. People are reluctant to travel in metro trains since the fares are little higher than other modes of transports. In spite of this there is heavy crowd during holidays and festive seasons like Deepavali.
An official of the metro rail while speaking said: We are conducting various functions to create awareness about the metro rail journey to the public. Everyday nearly 12000 people commute. During holidays and festive seasons there will be heavy crowd. During the recent Pongal festival, more than 1 Lakhs people have travelled in four days. In order to motivate people to use metro rail, a food and music carnival is being organized on 21st and 22nd at Vadapalani metro rail station from evening 4 pm to 9 pm. Entry is free.
