RBI governor seeks for compensation for PSBs

Raghuram Rajan the governor of Reserve Bank of India has taken on the government for pushing on the Jan Dhan Yojana on public sector banks. He has now sought for compensation for the PSU lenders.
This request is mentioned under the ‘Governor’s overview’ section of the annual report of the central bank. Public interest activities are undertaken by the PSBs and these need to be recognized. These are not entirely compensated.
