Superb news!! All schools belonging to Chennai Corporation to get Wi-Fi etc

The students studying in various schools that are run by the corporation of Chennai would soon have access to internet facilities under the Smart City project.
As a part of upgrading digital infrastructure at the campuses under the City Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain CITIIS initiative, Wi-Fi connections would be provided to the GCC run schools. This was pointed out by an official belonging to Chennai Corporation.
It is said that 28 GCC run schools in Chennai would get upgraded physical infrastructure but Wi-Fi and other digital infrastructure would be provided to all the schools. It is well known that the students have already been provided with laptops, tablets etc and now free internet would also be provided for them. It is learnt that various other digital up-gradation that would be provided are attendance tracking systems using biometric or facial recognition systems plus interactive digital infrastructure etc.
Few years back, GCC had won an amount of Rs 95 crores at the CITIIS challenge organised by the French government and Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. Under the CITIIS initiative, the civic body has decided to revamp certain schools, organise teacher development programmes, Montessori classes, sports and other extra- curricular activities etc.
