100 Days Job scheme for rural farmers - Increase in the daily wages

The daily wages for the jobs offered through the National Rural Job Scheme has been increased from Rs. 205 per day to Rs. 224.
The central government has been implementing the above scheme known as ‘100 days job scheme’ to provide job opportunities to the rural farmers and those who live below the poverty line.
Under this scheme, various activities such as cleaning and desilting operations of all kinds of water bodies such as rivers, lakes, and ponds are taken up. These activities are monitored by the respective state governments.
For the people employed under this scheme in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, a daily wage of Rs. 205 was being paid till recent times.
Presently, the central government has announced that this daily wage has now been increased to Rs. 224. This is effective from yesterday (1st April).
The daily wages under this scheme have been increased to Rs. 205 in Andhra and Telangana, Rs. 249 in Karnataka, and Rs. 271 in Kerala.
