The Chennai High Court has explained that the ban on the sales of plots will apply only to the unapproved lands.

The Chennai High Court ordered on 8th September 2016 that the Staff of the Land Registration Department must register on any account the plots which are sold with the layout after converting the agricultural land or the building/construction on it.

The advocate Yanai Rajendran who submitted this petition to the Chennai High Court reported on Tuesday (28th February) to the panel of judges including the Chief judge Huluvadi G. Ramesh and judge R. Mahadevan that he has been receiving threats.

He also appealed to the court that he should be permitted to file a case on defamation of tea Court. The judges approved his request.

The judges explained that the ban on the sales of plots is not for the entire lot of land property registrations. This ban will apply only to the sales of plots from lands which are unapproved. The concerned officials should keep in mind that these legal acts are very old.

The officials should consider whether the road facilities and other infrastructure are provided by the seller before registration.

The judges emphasized that the state government should expedite their actions in this regard.
