The salary of MPs to go up by 100 percent

The central government has decided to raise the salary of the Members of Parliaments to Rs. 1 Lakh.
A review committee was formed under BJP MP Yogi Adityanath regarding the revision of MP salary. After a detailed study and analysis, this committee has recommended the salary increase for the MPs.
This report was reviewed by the central government and submitted to the Prime Minister`s Office for approval.
The PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) has decided to approve the proposal to increase the monthly salary of the Members of Parliament from the present Rs. 50000/- to Rs. 1 lakh. It has also approved to raise the other perks and allowances for MPs.
The central government has also planned to increase the monthly salary of the President of India from the present Rs. 1.5 Lakhs to Rs. 5 Lakhs and the monthly salary of the governors from the present Rs. 1.10 Lakhs to Rs. 2.5 Lakhs.
