Thirunallaru temple celebrates Festival of ‘Sani Peyarchi’ today in a grand manner. Today at 2.43pm, Lord Saturn makes a shift frokm Thulam Rasi to Viruchika Rasi.
Thirunallaru, Karaikaal district, Pondicherry has a world famous temple for Lord Saturn. Here, Lord Saturn is the main deity blessing his devotees who comes to visit him from all over the world. The specialty of this temple is that this is the only temple on earth for Lord Saturn. Lord Saturn, one of the nine planets, shifts from one raasi to another once in two and a half years. This shifting is grandly celebrated as ‘Sani Peyarchi’ by all the devotees in Hinduism.
More than 10 lakh people are expected to take part in the celebration. Devotees from all parts of the country are flocking to the town to get blessed by the Lord on this day. People who visit the temple should firstly take bath in ‘Nala Theertha Kulam’ and visit Kali Theertha Vinayagar before visiting Lord Saturn.
