GST reduced for 40 items

The review meeting of GST Council was conducted in Hyderabad on 9th September. During this meeting, a decision was taken to reduce the GST for 40 items. The 40 items include idli-dosa batter, rubber bands, raincoat, fried split grams, tamarind and agarbathis.
GST for the raincoat is reduced from 18% to 12 %. GST for idli-dosa batter is reduced from 18% to 12%. Broomsticks are exempted from GST. GT for computer monitors is fixed at 18%. The 17 inch computer monitors are presently charged with GST of the same rate – 18%.
The time schedule for filing the GST details has been fixed. As per the earlier order, GSTR1 forms will have to be filed before 10th September. However, the time limit has now been extended up to 10th October.
