Opt to fly in Air India if your Rajdhani ticket is unconfirmed

Posted on: 23/Oct/2017 6:34:33 PM
We are all aware of the pain and discomfort of an unconfirmed train ticket. These scenarios may soon change as passengers who have unconfirmed AC-1 or AC-2 tickets with Rajdhani Express can get you flying in Air India instead for which you will have to pay the price difference, if any.

The AC-2 fares of Rajdhani express is quite the same to air fares. Unless too prior booking of tickets, it is not very tough to get ticket in Rajdhani express. So, most of the passengers would prefer pining their hope in finding a ticket in Tatkal or premium tatkal that is priced higher compared to Rajdhani waiting list. With this, the issue of low occupancy on Air India and the very high demand with Rajdhani will both get solved.

Ashwani Lohani, the present chairman of the Railway board had come up with this plan to switch tickets when he met the chairman of Air India. However, there was not any positive response from the railways. As he is now approaching the railway board, he believes that the railways will accept the proposal if Air India comes up with an approach towards them.

On 23rd August, Lohani got appointed as the Railway board Chairman following AK Mital who resigned from the position.
