Electrical power connection for houses in a single day

The electricity minister P. Thangamani has informed that in order for the public benefit, a new scheme of giving electrical power connection within a single day will be implemented from 1st July (for the commercial users and the houses with the low-voltage problem).
In a session with the press reporters, the minister for electricity informed that TANGEDCO has started a new scheme Minsara Nanban, jointly with the central ministry for electricity.
This scheme would provide the facility to send SMS regarding the maintenance work undertaken, etc., to the urban and rural electricity consumers.
The particulars of over 60 Lakh electricity consumers have been uploaded on the internet for this purpose. SMS will be sent to the consumers regarding any electricity related issues to the electricity consumers in the data recorded above through the computerised services of the Rural Electrification Corporation regarding any power failure, etc.
Further, a scheme of providing electrical connection in a single day for the houses with the low-voltage problem and commercial purposes will be implemented from 1st July.
Under this scheme, if the location of the applicant is (multi-storeyed apartment/commercial complexes) is located 100’ from the nearest TANGEDCO pole or junction box, the electrical connection will be given on the same day of application. If the location is where TANGEDCO has laid cable connections, the electrical connection will be provided within 48 hours of the application.
Applicants needing electrical connection may apply online: www.tangedco.gov.in. They can visit the nearest office and apply directly. When applying online, required payments can also be made online.
