Steps to be taken by those still to get their smart ration cards

The state government of Tamil Nadu has announced that those who are yet to receive their smart ration cards can submit their photographs along with a photocopy of their ration cards.
The activity of issuing the new smart ration cards in place of the old ration cards is in full swing in Chennai District.
Information is gathered that some ration card holders are yet to get their smart ration cards.
The ration card holders who are yet to get their smart cards can visit the website www.tnpds.gov.in on the internet, visit the consumer section, and register the cell phone number as furnished earlier.
Visit the section for change of information in the family ration card and check whether all particulars entered are correct. If corrections are to be done, the photograph has to be uploaded and the corrections to be done. The smart card will be printed only after this correction.
Please follow the procedure:
- If internet facility is available in the residence, visit the website, upload the photograph and carry out the required corrections.
- Otherwise, visit the nearest government e-service centre and do.
- Those without internet facility can visit their ration shops and hand over the copy of the ration card fixed with photograph to the ration shop staff.
- The details of the ration card holders where the particulars are wrong and no photos fixed have been displayed on the notice boards in all the ration shops. In case, the name is included in this list, please carry out the correction activity as given above.
