What is the simplest way to get Aadhar card in Chennai?

The Deputy Director of Chennai Census, Mr. M R V Krishna Rao, has explained the simplest way to get Aadhar cards in Chennai.

A total of 51 permanent centres have been opened for issuing Aadhar cards in Chennai.

BEL has deputed the officials who work in the centres.

The centres function from 10.00 AM till 6.00 PM every day except Tuesdays. For the benefit of the office-goers, the centres will work on Sunday, taking weekly off on Tuesdays.

A single operator can register the details of 60 individuals in a single day.

The centres will continue to function for one year, up to 31st October next year.

The applicants will have to bring the proof of the census count receipt. Otherwise, they have to get a fresh census count form, fill the same, and obtain the receipt.

Other documents required are Family card, Driving Licence, etc. Even if the documents are not available, the applicants can furnish the details for registration.

The public can register in any of the above 51 centres located in their wards.

So far, 25,94,007 Aadhar cards have been registered in Chennai. Out of this, 24,04,017 Aadhar cards have been issued in Chennai city.

1,89,988 persons have not bee given Aadhar cards.

They can visit the Aadhar card centres with the proof of registration and get the finger-printing done again. They can also meet the coordinating official in the centre.
