Shocking!! Chennai residents have not received booth slips even now!!
Election on 19th April, but where are the booth slips?
Residents in many localities in Chennai have complained that they haven`t received boot slips even now. According to GCC Commissioner and district election officer Mr. Radhakrishnan, 86percent of the registered voters have received their booth slips and the rest would receive them soon.
It must be noted that none of those residing in the Venkatraman Canal Street, Venkatraman Street and Saraswathi Square etc in Perambur ward 71 zone 6 have received booth slips.
It was later brought out by a resident from Valmiki Nagar that many residents have not received their booth slips even now. Truth is that efforts are being made to encourage voting but focus must be on the arrangements to ease the voting process.
The GCC Commissioner Mr. Radhakrishnan mentioned that booth slips and booth location details have been available online. He added that facilitation centres would be set up at booths. The booth officers would guide the voters who have not received booth slips. He concluded that in some localities the local authorities visited the houses many times to provide booth slips.
