Tips to help you stay with your fitness goal

Having a healthy lifestyle is what we all desire and try to keep it usually at the top of our priority list, but it is also one of the toughest things to accomplish. Here are some tips to help you stay motivated this year.

Be specific about your goal. Do you want to lose weight or inches? Do you want to gain weight depending on your Body Mass Index (BMI)? Do you want to strengthen your muscles and core?

Add a number to your goal. How much do you want to gain or lose? While doing so, keep in mind that getting and staying fit requires a lot of effort. Take baby steps at the beginning.

Another thing to keep in mind is that every body is different, having its own uniqueness and limitations. Find goals that our relevant to you. Setting a goal should not be in comparison with someone else.

Include a deadline. Keep in mind the specifications. For instance, if you want to lose weight and you are just starting, with proper diet and exercise, losing 5 kgs a month makes sense.

Start with goals on a regular basis. For instance, I will take a walk every day for 30 minutes. Or, I will drink a minimum of 3 litres of water every day. These short term goals go a long way in achieving your long term goals.
