Breakfast rich in mushroom can make you feel fuller

As compared to eating meat, you will feel fuller and less hungry if you have mushroom-rich breakfast, says a new study.
 
Earlier studies also claim the same and state that mushrooms feel fuller compared to meat, but so far, there is no study pertaining to protein amounts in it, said Joanne Slavin, professor at the University of Minnesota in the US.
 
Previous researches state that mushrooms come with both satiating benefit and nutritional values. You may either substitute mushroom with meat or replace a portion of meat with mushrooms.
 
Researchers prefer matching the protein amount in mushroom and meat due to the satiating nature of protein foods.
 
On comparing the protein content of mushroom and meat, either of them ended with similar calorie content and calorie content as well.
 
Mary Jo Feeney, a nutrition research coordinator of Mushroom Council said that mushroom largely helps in managing weight and contributes to wellness on the whole.
 
The study intended to analyze the difference in satiety between 10-day intake of button mushrooms and meat.
 
The study involved 17 women and 15 men all of whom had 2 serves of meat and mushroom for 10 long days.
 
They were fed with sliced mushrooms or ground beef for consumption twice a day for 10 days. The portion of each of these is calculated according to the protein content and calorie counts.
 
There is substantial difference in satiety of mushrooms and meat, as per results. On consuming a mushroom rich breakfast, the participants felt lesser hunger and fuller feel as compared to eating meat breakfast.
