New power units in the city

During the question hour at the assembly, the members raised questions about power generation in the state for which Natham Vishwanathan replied that to bring uniformity in power generation, over 41 auxiliary power units will be set up. This will comprise of two 400MW units, eight 220MW units, seven 110MW units and twenty four 34MW units. The overall estimate for this project is Rs 2963.34 crore. In Velachery, a 110 MW power unit will be set up at a cost of Rs 35 crore.
