RTE Application Process to Commence April 22
According to a recent communication from the School Education Department, RTE applications are set to open online starting April 22. Eligible children born between August 1, 2020, and July 31, 2021, can apply for LKG under the RTE Act. Families with an income below ₹2 lakh and residing within 1 km of private schools are eligible for the 25% reservation.
To facilitate the process, authorities are instructed to arrange for online application facilities. Private schools are required to display details of available RTE Act seats in entry-level classes by April 10.
The deadline for applications is May 20, with acceptance and rejection details set to be published on May 27. In case of excess applications, a lottery will be conducted on May 28 for seat allocation.
