Several prominent schools in Chennai were thrown into chaos today as they received ominous bomb threat emails, claiming that explosives would detonate within their premises. The Greater Chennai City Police confirmed that these were hoax threats, but precautionary measures were taken.
In response to the threatening emails received by five schools, authorities swiftly initiated anti-sabotage checks. The Greater Chennai City Police, along with the Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS), deployed personnel to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Parents were notified, leading to the early closure of many schools, with a request for parents to pick up their children promptly. A senior police officer assured the public that the situation was under control and urged them not to panic.
"Action is being taken to identify the culprit who sent these e-mails. It turned out to be a hoax threat," stated the police, emphasizing that there was no imminent danger.
The Cyber Crime Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to trace the anonymous sender responsible for the threatening emails. Authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety and security of the educational institutions affected by this alarming incident.
