Heavy rains in the next 2 days in TN due to low pressure over Bay of Bengal!!

On 9th of November, a low pressure area is likely to form over the south-east Bay of Bengal and neighbouring places. This would bring heavy rains in 12 districts belonging to Tamil Nadu in the next 48 hours. This was mentioned by RMC, Chennai.

Mr. N. Puviarasan, director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, RMC in Chennai expressed his thoughts. He mentioned that due to the atmospheric air circulation extending up to 5.8km prevailing in the central west Bengal Sea and adjacent coastal areas belonging to AP a low pressure area would be forming over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbouring regions on 9th November.

For the next 2 days, there would be heavy rains along with thunderstorms in various districts like the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and other delta districts belonging to Tamil Nadu. In the next 2 days, there will be moderate rains in the rest of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal etc.

In the Chennai city, sky would be normally cloudy and some localities would receive light to moderate rains with thunderstorms. .

It must be noted that the fishermen have been advised not to go into the sea as there would be winds of high speeds from 40kmph to 50kmph in central and western Bay of Bengal, southern AP and Karnataka coast till Sunday.  On Thursday, Erode received 11cm of rain and was followed by Namakkal that received 8cm of rain. Other districts like Madurai, Virudhunagar, Salem and Cuddalore received 7cms of rain.
