Chennai based ESOINDIA launches a new initiative on cancer awareness

These days we come across many people who are affected with cancer and many steps are taken to spread awareness about cancer is known. On Sunday, 27th January 2019, Chennai based ESOINDIA became cynosure of many eyes as it launched an initiative called ‘Vizhithezhu’. The main aim of this initiative is to create awareness about stomach and food pipe cancer and prevention of suicides at the districts, taluks and village levels.

All roads led to the famous Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai on Sunday as a fundraiser music programme took place there. The project was launched in Kalaivanar Arangam by none other than Mr. N. Ram who is the chairman of THG Publishing Private Limited. Mr. Ram expressed his thoughts about cancer and spoke about how when one wanted to achieve a social objective then creating awareness is very important. He added that media had an important role in creating awareness on the two issues. The work done by ESOINDIA founder, Mr. S. M. Chandramohan was sensational and it had caught the attention of Mr. Ram.

The chairman of THG Publishing Private Limited appreciated Dr. Chandramohan and said he was a humanist and his was evidence based medicine. It is important to mention here that ESOINDIA aimed at helping those people with gastroesophageal disorders, cancers and those who have consumed acids etc. Dr. Chandramohan later spoke about how for a doctor the wellness of the patients is very important. He then highlighted about the difficulties faced by an acid consumed patients and said these patients could not eat or swallow their own saliva.

At the launching some patients spoke about the contribution made by Dr. Chandramohan in saving their lives. Secretary of ESOINDIA, Mr. Kanagavel expressed his thoughts and said in February 2020 the organisation would be conducting the Asia Pacific Gastro Oesophageal Cancer Congress.

The launching event also saw many prizes being distributed to the students who took part in essay competition as a part of World Cancer Day. Few famous personalities who made their presence felt were doctors Rema Chandramohan and Nalini Krishnan who is co-chairperson of Kasturi & sons, Mohan Rajan, Sujatha Mohan, actor Sathish and actress Varalakshmi etc.
