Heat intensity will be higher in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the intensity of heat will be lesser in interior districts of Tamil Nadu whereas dry weather will prevail in the coastal districts.
It rained during the last week in Tamil Nadu and the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border areas. Due to the high intensity depression-zone formed over the Indian Ocean, there was rain in several places in the districts of Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, Theni, Dindigul, and Virudhunagar. Due o the mild rain which lasted till day-before-yesterday, the water level in various water resources in ponds and lakes has risen considerably.
Following this, the PWD (Public Works Department) officials expressed hopes that there would not any water shortage in the summer season,
In this situation, there are prospects of mild rain and mild heat in the interior districts away from the coast. However, dry weather will prevail in the coastal districts according to the reports from the Chennai Meteorological Centre.
