Doctors play an important role in this society is known to us. People go to the doctors for their treatment of many health issues.

The news that has come out now is on 21st of March 2018 students belonging to government medical colleges would be staging demonstration.

The main objective of this protest is for demanding 50 percent reservations for government doctors in post graduate medical admissions. The decision to protest was confirmed by the doctors association of TN.

Earlier apex court and Medical Council of India denied the proposal for 50 % reservation for government doctors in pg medical admissions is known. Now the medical students are demanding the same and this is making news.

It must be noted that medical students wanted complete withdrawal of NMC or National Medical Commission bill plus they also remained agitated regarding the non-implementation of 27 % reservation for OBCs in all India quota PG medical seats.

According to the NMC bill, to get practising licenses the medicos must write a common entrance examination plus licentiate examinations. This would reduce the medical education standards and not strengthen it. State government’s failure to act in order to oppose this NMC bill angered the medicos in the state of TN. The medical students want this NMC bill to be totally withdrawn now.

Dr .G. Rabindranath who is secretary for Doctors Association of Social Equality spoke about the demonstration that would take place on 21st March and it would be organised jointly by GADA or Governments All Doctors Association and Doctors Association of Social Equality or DASE.
