Bomb threat Call for Chennai Airport Officials on Investigation

A Bomb Threat Call sent to airport on Monday Morning to the Airport Authorities in Chennai.The Anonymous caller warned the Police Control Room at 9.30am that a terrorist would trigger a blast on a Chennai-Trichy flight. It later turned out to be a hoax. Due to the call Security was tightened at the airport and every flights were checked with Bomb Detectors, Dog Squad, and the extensive checking was also carried out on Passengers by CISF bomb detection team.
The Officials said that as per the Protocol, Airport police transfer such information to the airport authorities for action. CISF handles security inside the terminal buildings and operational area while personnel of the security wing of respective airlines monitor people near the apron where flights are handled and passengers board using shuttle buses.
The police Officials were engaged in investigation upon the threat.
