Chennai 10K INTENCITY RUN all set to kick off this Sunday

One of India’s biggest running circuit, the Chennai 10K INTENCITY RUN will be held in Chennai on Sunday, January 21 2018. Prominent personalities such as Olympian CT Durai, Sydney Olympics 2000, Olympian Purukottam Ramachandran, Sydney Olympics 2000, Walter Devaram, IPS & President – Tamil Nadu Athletic Association among others will be the special guests who will stage their presence at the event.
The Chennai 10K INTENCITY RUN is supported by the Athletics Federation of India and has covered five cities (Pune, Indore, Hyderabad, Bengaluru & Mumbai) since the first leg held in Pune. The run has already been certified by the AIMS will have the runners participating in various categories starting with 10 km (Elite Run), 5 km (Fun Run) and 2 km (Olympic Champions Run for Age 12-16) Run and will promote and pledge to a Green, Healthy India. The Chennai 10K INTENCITY RUN will be held along the picturesque Besant Nagar Beach which will only aid the runners clocking impressive timings early in the morning.
The 10K INTENCITY run will also serve one of the core ideologies of the initiative which is to give back to sports persons of India. Through the support of the Olympians Association of India (An association of former Olympians), a part of the money generated will be disbursed to former and current Olympians along with aspiring sports persons so that money can be ploughed back in creating a sound infrastructure system which will not only inspire existing sports persons but also create future Olympians of our country.
Organisers of the marathon Andy Event Management have spared no efforts in ensuring that the runners are well looked after during the course of the run. The 10-km stretch will be held at Besant Nagar with the Chennai 10K INTENCITY RUN starting at 6am and will be followed by the 2km Future Olympians Run and followed by the 5-km Fun Run.
In order to encourage participation and last minute requests, the Chennai 10K INTENCITY RUN will accept off line registration at its event Expo which will be held at Decathlon, Perungudi Branch, OMR, Chennai on Saturday, January 20, 2018 between 10am to 6pm.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anand Menezes, Olympian, Founder & Director, Andy Event Management said, “Hosting the Chennai race is a very prestigious issue. After the deluge last year, we had to postpone the race. Hence, there is lot of sentiments attached to this beautiful coastal city. We are looking to spread our core message of a Green, Healthy India and also to urge youngsters to be a part of the race and help protect our environment. As an Olympian, running for me is very important and through the Chennai 10K INTENCITY RUN, we want to give an opportunity to the hidden talent of India. We have travelled five cities before coming to Chennai and we hope to leave our long lasting foot prints here.”
