Pongal special buses to be operated until another week

In order to facilitate the travelling public who undertook travel to their places for the Pongal holidays, the special buses will be run on 15th. 15th, and 17th January making for a total of 2275 regular buses and 3770 special buses. However, it appears that the number of travellers returning to Chennai has not reduced yet.
So, in order to facilitate the passengers still returning after Pongal festive season, the State Transport Corporations have decided to extend the operation of special buses for 1 more week.
A high-level official explained in this regard that the public is returning gradually after the Pongal festive season. So, arrangements are being made for their safe and easy travel.
As 21st and 22nd January are Wedding days, (Subamuhurtham days OR auspicious days for weddings), a decision has been taken to operate 500 to 800 special buses daily for another week.
